So, I’ve been off for 3 weeks and now I’ve returned to the office. It was nice to get back one day before my boss got back from her own vacation. But, like the title above indicates, it is day #2.
As I’m blazing through the piles and piles of paperwork that’s been left for me, the boss yells out to Alice, “Donor reminders go out this week, right?” Alice responds accordingly. She follows up with a question to me, “Mark, did you hear that conversation?” My eyes turn red. But wait, I shouldn’t react this way. I told myself that work would take a smaller role in my life, and this is a good example of where I could implement the idea.
I will NOT react like they expect me to react. I will be cool as a cucumber. I will try to get as much work done as I can and see where I end up by the end of the week. Serenity now… serenity now…
